DR. BULIK IS A COLLEGE ADVISOR
WHO IS COMMITTED TO FINDING THE
RIGHT COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY FOR
HER STUDENTS AND OPENING THEIR
HORIZONS TO COLLEGES THEY HAD
NEVER CONSIDERED BEFORE.
WHY HIRE RED BRICK?
Founded by Lou Anne Bulik, PhD, a professional with 30 years of experience in a vast range of higher education positions, Red Brick Educational Consulting works with students one-on-one to find a college that fits—academically, socially, philosophically, emotionally, and financially.
In an era when the average student takes five years to graduate, meaning the cost of an undergraduate degree can approach $350,000, our goal is to help students succeed, thrive, and graduate in four years.
EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
What sets Red Brick apart is depth and breadth of knowledge Dr. Bulik brings to the world students want to enter. Lou Anne knows colleges and universities from the inside out—large, medium, and small; public and private; liberal arts and technical.
As a longtime senior university executive, she understands enrollment priorities and decisions. As a former English and Humanities professor, Lou Anne knows the research and writing expectation students will face on the college level. As a onetime employee of the College Board, she understands the role that standardized tests like the SAT and college readiness programs such as Advanced Placement play in the college admissions process. And as a former alumna interviewer for one of the most selective universities in the nation, she knows how to coach high-school students for personal interviews.
Lou Anne graduated with a BA in history from Georgetown University. She earned an MA, MPhil, and PhD in comparative literature from New York University. She received a certificate in higher education management and leadership from Harvard University and a certificate in college counseling from UCLA. This unique combination of experience and credentials distinguishes the perspective that Lou Anne brings to Red Brick Educational Consulting and its mission of finding the right fit for each student in the college admissions process.
“My high school senior is
currently searching for and
applying to colleges. The whole
process can be incredibly
complicated and confusing.
When I got stumped, Lou
Anne’s breadth of knowledge
and sound advice were
invaluable. I wish I had known
about her earlier in the process;
she is a marvelous guide!”
